Helping Organizations Grow While Helping Communities Thrive

Every organization has opportunities hidden in plain sight.
Some are buried within existing customer relationships. Others are found through overlooked partnerships, untapped revenue opportunities, stronger member engagement, or simply looking at a familiar challenge from a different perspective. More often than not, the opportunity already exists - it just hasn't been recognized.
That's where I can help.
For more than 20 years, I've helped businesses, publishers, membership organizations, associations, and nonprofits uncover overlooked opportunities, strengthen relationships, increase revenue, build strategic partnerships, and create sustainable growth.
I've learned that organizations rarely struggle because they lack talented people, committed leadership, or good ideas. More often, they're so focused on serving customers, members, or their communities that they don't have the time - or the outside perspective - to recognize what's possible.
I don't begin with recommendations.
I begin with understanding.
I listen before I advise. I ask thoughtful questions before offering solutions. I work to understand what matters most to your customers, members, employees, partners, and community. Then I connect people, ideas, and opportunities in ways that create measurable results.
Marketing matters.
Sales matter.
Operations matter.
Strategy is what brings them together.
Sustainable growth comes from understanding people, building trust, creating meaningful value, and aligning everyone around opportunities worth pursuing.
Whether your goal is increasing revenue, growing membership, strengthening partnerships, improving customer engagement, expanding community impact, or solving a challenge that has stalled progress, my role is simple: Help you see opportunities others don't.
Ideas create possibilities.
Results create confidence.
Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to help organizations solve meaningful business challenges while delivering measurable growth.
Recruited to help reverse eight consecutive years of declining revenue.
"Ken's energy is limitless, he has a creative motor that never stops, and he is disciplined and determined in pursuing decision makers. He has excellent communication skills and is earnest in listening to a customer's needs."
— Roger Brummett, Chapter President, Mercedes-Benz Club of America; Executive Vice President, Metro Elevator
“No one with more talent has ever walked through our doors. Ken transformed our relationship with BMW Motorrad, helped reverse a significant membership decline, increased membership by nearly 20%, and grew our member benefits from six to more than 100. His enthusiasm, positive attitude, focus, and initiative are traits a paycheck can’t buy—and Ken has each in spades.”
— Ian Schmeisser, BMW MOA Board Member • 7× International Rally Committee Chair • BMW MOA Ambassador
Growth isn't accidental.
It's the result of understanding people, recognizing opportunities, building trust, and executing a strategy that creates lasting value.
Organizations typically reach out to me when they want to:
I don't sell marketing.
I don't sell advertising.
I don't sell communications.
Marketing, advertising, communications, partnerships, media, and community engagement are the tools I use to accomplish that mission.
Helping organizations grow has always been one of my passions.
Helping communities grow has become my life's work.
That belief inspired me to found Community Volunteers United, a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to connecting volunteers, nonprofits, businesses, schools, and community leaders in ways that strengthen communities.
The same principles that strengthen successful organizations also strengthen successful communities:
That philosophy inspired initiatives including the Please Be Kind! public service campaign, the Student–Nonprofit Match Program, nonprofit marketing workshops in local libraries, volunteer initiatives, and strategic partnerships that continue helping nonprofits expand their impact throughout Connecticut.
Community Volunteers United has been recognized by the Governor of Connecticut, the Connecticut General Assembly, the Connecticut Secretary of the State, educators, community leaders, and national media, including CBS News national.
I’m a published author, speaker, and educator focused on helping people and organizations create meaningful, positive change. My first book, The Local Nonprofit Marketing & Fundraising Guide, provides practical strategies to help community nonprofits grow their visibility, support, and impact.
I’m also developing books centered on leadership, kindness, community engagement, and making a positive difference, while teaching free classes that give local nonprofits practical tools to strengthen their organizations and better serve their communities.
Whether I'm consulting, writing, speaking, or teaching, my mission remains the same:
Every organization has opportunities waiting to be discovered. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh perspective to recognize them.
If you're looking to increase revenue, strengthen partnerships, grow membership, improve engagement, expand community impact, or solve a challenge that has resisted conventional thinking, I'd welcome the opportunity to learn about your organization and explore what's possible together.
